Instagram data deletion
How to have us delete what we hold from your Instagram comment, and what happens if you do nothing.
What we hold
For each comment on our posts that used a keyword: the comment's ID, the post's ID, the comment text, your Instagram user ID and username, when it was posted, and whether our one reply was sent. Nothing else.
If you do nothing
The record is deleted automatically 90 days after the comment was received.
To have it deleted sooner
- Send a direct message to our Instagram account from the account that posted the comment, saying you want your comment record deleted. That proves it is yours without our needing anything else from you.
- Or use the contact form on this site, giving your Instagram username and roughly when you commented.
- We delete the record within 30 days and confirm by the same route you used.
Deleting the comment itself
Deleting your comment on Instagram removes it from Instagram. It does not automatically remove our record of it, which is why the routes above exist, but it does stop any further processing by us.
What cannot be deleted
Nothing. We keep no invoice, order, or account information from Instagram comments, so there is no record that has to be retained.
